SHIPPING POLICY
This Shipping Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which SecondHandMobilityScooters (“we”, “our”, “us”) dispatches and delivers mobility scooters purchased through our website to customers within the United Kingdom. By placing an order with us, the customer (“you”, “your”) acknowledges and agrees to the terms set out in this policy. All mobility scooters sold by SecondHandMobilityScooters are classified as oversized goods and are delivered via a specialist domestic oversized pallet delivery service. We do not currently offer international shipping and all deliveries are restricted to UK mainland addresses unless otherwise stated. Upon receiving an order, each mobility scooter undergoes a detailed five (5) day preparation process prior to dispatch which includes a full mechanical service, a health and safety inspection, a cosmetic clean and polish, and the secure wrapping and fastening of the scooter to a pallet suitable for heavy freight transport. This preparation time ensures that all units are serviced, tested, and packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
Following the completion of the five-day preparation period, your order will be collected and delivered via our pallet courier service. Delivery times may vary depending on courier schedules, location, and accessibility but are typically completed within one (1) to five (5) working days after dispatch. While we make every effort to meet these delivery timelines, they are estimates only and not guaranteed. Delays caused by courier operations, traffic conditions, or external factors beyond our control do not constitute grounds for cancellation or compensation. Customers will be notified once their order has been dispatched and tracking details will be provided where available. Deliveries are made to the kerbside or the nearest accessible point at the delivery address only, as pallet couriers are not insured or equipped to move heavy items inside properties. It is therefore the responsibility of the customer to ensure adequate access for pallet delivery, including space for unloading, and to make any necessary arrangements for moving the scooter from the kerbside to its final location.
Customers must ensure that all delivery details, including name, address, and contact number, are correct at the time of ordering. Any failed delivery attempts resulting from incorrect information, inaccessible locations, or missed appointments may incur additional redelivery charges. In the event that a delivery cannot be completed due to access restrictions or customer unavailability, the courier may return the pallet to the depot and contact will be made to rearrange delivery at the customer’s expense. SecondHandMobilityScooters shall not be held responsible for loss, damage, or delays resulting from courier handling, adverse weather, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery of the pallet to the specified address.
All mobility scooters are securely packaged and strapped to a pallet using protective materials to minimise transit damage. Customers are advised to inspect the pallet and scooter carefully upon receipt and report any visible damage or concerns immediately before signing for delivery. If damage is noticed after delivery, customers must notify us in writing with photographs and a description of the issue within 24 hours of receipt. Failure to report damage within this timeframe may limit or void any claim for compensation or replacement. In the event that a mobility scooter is damaged during transit, we will work with the courier to resolve the issue in accordance with our returns policy. Customers are advised not to dispose of any packaging materials until any damage claim or inspection process has been completed.
Estimated delivery times are measured from the point of dispatch and exclude weekends and public holidays. During busy periods or unforeseen circumstances, delivery may take longer than anticipated. Customers who require expedited processing should contact us prior to ordering to confirm availability; however, express shipping cannot always be guaranteed for palletised items. We reserve the right to use any courier or freight partner of our choosing to fulfil deliveries, provided that the service used meets the necessary standards for safe and secure transport of large and heavy goods.
This Shipping Policy forms part of the Terms and Conditions of sale and may be updated or amended at any time without prior notice. The most current version will always be displayed on our website and will apply to all orders placed thereafter. Your continued use of our website and completion of any purchase constitutes acceptance of this Shipping Policy and acknowledgment that oversized pallet deliveries require additional handling and time compared to standard parcels.
